YWCA is on a mission and YWCA Columbus is making it our own!
YWCA Columbus is uniquely positioned in the Central Ohio community as both a human services organization and a social justice organization. We deliver essential services in childcare and housing -- providing permanent, supportive housing for women and emergency shelter for families -- while also raising our voices for equity for trans youth, reproductive healthcare, housing for all, and more.
At this critical point in our history, this dual commitment to serving our neighbors and advocating for women and families has never been more important.
We remain rooted in rich history and centered on peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all, while the programs and services we offer continue to evolve.
Nationally, YWCA advocacy issues include lobbying for pay equity and hate crimes legislation, increased funding for Head Start and passing the Violence Against Women Act. Learn more at ywca.org.
Social Justice ↘
By fostering dialogue, providing practical resources, and educating our community, YWCA Columbus promotes empowerment and inclusion. We approach social change through education, engagement, and empowerment, which, in turn, initiates systematic social change that will create a Columbus of peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
